The decaying man
No country should suffer the kidnapping of its citizens, and we of all countries should know that. Kidnappings are the plague of the plague, and once it begins in a country it never stops.
A bit like indiscriminated murders on a fleeing population, the destruction of the livelihood of thousands, the bombing to stone age mentality. And apparently the use of any pretext to launch a pre-planned operation.
The sad truth is, it's not easy situation, the press call it an "accidental war". But from many historians we get a different perspective, iran bullying around, syria trying to recover it's influence. The need from israel to secure territories that it once controlled, gave back, and now are being used against it. Like all conflicts, a complete utter mess.
The irony of the situation, things were supposedly getting better in the Lebannon, the Hizbollah had apparently limited demands after which the wholle situation would be over.
I was dragged to see "The Break up", yesterday. I read the reviews in the paper, and it got the thumbs down, so I was not expecting much. But it was not a bad movie, it was an odd couple who have a bit of a mismatch, and then it begins to escalate out of proportion, but all in a very understandable way, but still when you hear them talk about their actions, both sound reasonable. Sad to see how the person you love so much can really be a miserable bastard when they really want. A bit like "Matchpoint" by Woody Allen.
