Where to go when nobody knows you and you don't know anybody?
The good news: I bought a new laptop. I really do hope that whoever broke into my flat is not reading this.
The bad news: I have come to a couple of devastating conclusions, I will not share them, because they do not contribute to make the world any better, but I will share some of the thoughts behind it.
In German, people always talk about how the air becomes thinner the higher you go. I will be thirty in a couple of weeks, and as they say, it's downhill from here. Studies have shown that men reach the peak of their potential between 30 and 35, and apparently you spend the rest of your life keeping that level.
Although life is non linear, it is non conservative. Let me talk a little bit about it using the animal life cyle (to be born, grow, reproduce and die) translated into modern human steps.
First you are randomly assigned a family and some genetic qualities that will basically determine most of your fate. You go into primary school, then into secondary school, university, you get a job, you get promoted, you meet a woman, you marry her, you have children, you take care of them until they reach adulthood, you get a pension, and then you spend your golden years going to the doctor every week, and having some parts removed and exchanged for synthetic ones until you die, hopefully not in poverty.
Readers from this blog, will notice that I have spoken about this sometime before. The fact that we as a society created a system (a.k.a. The Beast, and hence the name of this blog), and now the system has evolved and is using us to survive is not relevant anymore, so I will not focus on that. As I was saying, in each of the aforementioned steps someone always just disappears, think about the thousands of spermatozoids that didn't make it to the egg, some will drop out of school, some out of high school, some don't make it to university, some never find a job... some die in freak accidents. And yet some of the dropouts go to create multi-million companies, or do major contributions to humanity (hence the non linearity ;-) )
