Compuexpo German style
For the third time I attended the CeBIT.
If you ask any German in the "IT" sector, they will say: "The CeBIT? It sucks, there is nothing to see there, you've seen it once, you've seen them all". But for me the CeBIT is a wonderful experience, I get little tears of joy in my eyes as I approach the entrance gate. Why, you ask? Because I feel, for a day, at home. Imagine CompuExpo multiplied by one hundred. One hundred, wow! That's a factor of one hundred gatas in silver miniskirts more. One hundred of pretty women smiling to you while some geek waits behind her ready to fall on you to make you buy something, or even worse, talk to you for an hour with no definite purpose about something they have no idea. The wonders of the reseller culture! At the end of the day, you get food and beer for free (Free as in Beer), and the shameless excuse of body painting to show some topless models, while two giant screens subliminaly project the organisers logo on regular intervals. Tears of joy, tears of joy!!!
Unfortunately, this time I had to do some real work and attend a JBOSS conference, which was actually ok, because I had the chance to meet Marc Fleury, but from the window I could see hundreds of nerds in groups a la Freaks Unidos. Hundreds of girls in tight blue and red mini costumes. Hundreds of Tecnologics, SintaSofts, BananaComps, MacroTecnos, ByteSystems, ans so on.
Life is beautiful.
